May 18, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

exclusively Skirt in the Kitchen  This holds all the essence of everything floral.  It's refreshing with hints of citrus throughout.   Cheese is baked within.  It could be the recipe for a wedding cake, just multiply it in accordance per servings needed; bulk it up! The cake also has extracted juice and the specks of orange zest.  For a unique twist, in place of vanilla … [Read more...]

Vodka-Vanilla Coconut Chocolate Chip Cake

April 23, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

exclusively Skirt in the Kitchen   This is the center of the cake, the best part.  If one of my children does not request the center square of the cake that I cut to serve first, it usually goes to my husband.  And this was his idea from the moment we first got together.  He's a little spoiled now!  Once in a while, in a big while, I might get the center of the cake-- and … [Read more...]

Balsamic Red Velvet Cake

February 5, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

Balsamic Red Velvet Cake, exclusively (recipes I hold dearest to my heart) Skirt in the Kitchen   It's getting close to Valentine's Day, but I'd make a red velvet cake any time of the year.  Besides, it's Skirt's signature cake, what this blog began with practically four years ago.  I made and baked it a little early, could not wait for May-- when she began, of course. I … [Read more...]

Poppy Seed Cake
