Hot Apple Tea Toddy

January 29, 2011 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

Winter hit its slump.  The holidays fled without care.  Irish fangs on a green face showed its true color.
It is warm inside.
Despite the cold and the wolf at the door, there is harmony within.
Let’s pull up the covers a little while, a bit longer, and hide from the world.
Draw the shades, pull them down, shut out the wind.  Winter will soon be gone so the sun can shine again.

~ Skirt in the Kitchen ~
1 apple cider tea bag
1 star anise pod
3/4 cup water
1 ounce brandy
2 teaspoons honey
lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick
Steep tea bag and anise pod in hot water for five minutes.  Add brandy, honey, squirt of real lemon juice and a cinnamon stick.  Snack on a few almonds and figs with your hot tea.
Hibernate…
