The Lord is real. He has given us the ability to love with an authentic love, a scarlet love that never fades or dies. It calls for acceptance and honesty. His love is perfect, scarlet in color that is vibrant and outstanding.
When people let us down, when we let them down, and when it feels like no one is here, God’s love is what remains that was here all along. His love never ages, so it never feels old. It picks us up, it sets us where we ought to be, and it reminds us where we should stay.
The word, scarlet, means a vibrant or brilliant red color. It is the most vivid color of the rainbow. It is the most descriptive color. Scarlet red can signify a full heart, rich blood, a bright shade of lipstick, a cherry-red convertible, red balloons, Christmas-red on white snow, a fragrant rose, a juicy red apple… So it is not surprising that scarlet also means the depth and richness of devoted, true love.
When things don’t work out, when people forsake us, when we get embarrassed over something that we knew we had the strength to salvage any embarrassment and shame, we are reminded that we can do better. Sometimes a bad situation, or what we think is so terrible, can be the best thing that is said about us, the best thing that could and should happen to us in the present time in order to correct circumstances in our growth. Out of those embarrassing, shameful, bad experiences, there is real victory because we can be determined through action to give our best even better, and much more. If we allow ourselves to feel humble throughout the ordeal, and after the matter, we can avoid further problems up the road. I think things tend to happen to us, not only from our slacking in responsibilities, but also from the things that were not in our control to start with, that can still build us with our will to not let happen again. We can achieve the avoidance of such reason of embarrassment. Will we get embarrassed or ashamed again? Certainly, we’re human beings living among human beings. We share the same media space, the same blogosphere, the same world of air that each of us have to breathe in order to live here. We crawl back into our holes and negotiate with ourselves and figure out what we should have done, what we could have done, and what we can do-now. That’s the beauty of losing. A loser can be the dark horse, the valiant victor from a bad situation and make himself/herself a better person on the inside in order to live the fullest while accomplishing what was meant to be carried through accordingly. That reflection becomes an authentic love of oneself and of others, even of God. It’s a scarlet red.
When things go wrong, count it good. Rejoice in sorrow and displeasure, and in wrong-doing upon us. Let us not repeat errors; most precisely, those that we cause unto ourselves as well as unto others. After the initial sting, be glad and be thankful that there is a valid chance to rebuild, great or small, inside the heart that knows us better than any other. Be a scarlet color, give the authentic love that never fades or dies.candy apple red
