This needs no introduction, really. It doesn’t call for a thin coat of icing, either. It’s good in its own way without a sweet addition of a runny, gooey top of something processed; just golden honey from the bees. It’s something plain and simple with some wholesomeness. It’s what you’d like to pack when hiking in the woods with your family on a crisp weekend when the weather is just getting warm but the mornings and nights have a slight chill. It’s awesome to have with coffee that you brewed outdoors over a campfire; sitting on a rock from hiking, watching the birds and listening to the sounds of nature– that part of the world where nothing changes in its habit, the innocence that still exists in the wild.
These might be just right for an after-school snack for the kids to grab when flying through the door. And maybe you want these when you’re taking a quick break from hammering a nail, building that outdoor porch or deck that your wife fervently wanted you to construct; you know, the one she was on your back about, the one in the magazine that you had to master and make for the warm months ahead? Build it, make it happen, and enjoy the process. Give yourself a pat on the back for your hard labor and for providing for the ones you cherish. It’s called appreciation.
