Holiday Compilation

November 7, 2013 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

It’s Thanksgiving and Christmas mixed into one holiday from the beginning to the latter of November– we make preparations, we decorate the house.  Long ago, we used to celebrate Thanksgiving Day all to itself without a stitch of Christmas decorations anywhere (“when I was a kid”).  It’s a glitter-season this time of year.  Let’s not forget to set out the Pilgrim hats home-crafted or made at school by our kids.  Let’s not forget to stick and stab the red apples for colored paper feathers and a pipe cleaner for a turkey’s beard that our children will make, the centerpiece for the table.  Let’s continue the story of the Pilgrims and the Mayflower during the feast of turkey and dressing with delicious sides…  Let’s decorate and trim the house with Christmas while we celebrate Thanksgiving and dine on a full spread that brings family, friend, and foe together.  Let us not forget to be thankful all year long, not only at this time of year.

Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours, near and far, from Skirt in the Kitchen ~
