Rose-Colored Glasses [32]January 30, 2020 By Susan Nuyt Leave a CommentI’m having a rose-colored glasses kind of day-afternoon!It’s 61 and sunny; a nip of chill on the porch, but a content day.Good to soak up some pleasant vitamin-D.Have you put away all things resembling Christmas?… Being in retail, I keep some of it up all year— but in its own rightful place. Also, it keeps me focused for end-of-year sales that I’m stretching to reach throughout the year.And this year is no exception.Have you remembered that 2020 is leap year?What projects are you working on; you know, that ‘new year’ ambition… ?!! I get excited hearing about people’s goals, their dreams, what they’re doing to achieve them all– all those little steps that are important along the way. And that’s the beauty and the fun of it, the process.The 2020 Chinese New year brought along, “the Year of the Rat”– [and some flu, shh…].I’m not into zodiacs, not into anything fortune-telling; I just find it interesting, what matters to diverse cultures.Photographs of their celebratory new year are lovely to look at, and the meaning of this symbol, the rodent, relational—“Rats are clever, quick thinkers; successful, but content with living a quiet and peaceful life.”Kind of like this, this video down below; how to creatively and imaginatively build a guitar out of epoxy resin: Or how about this one made out of 800 pieces of paper– finished piece approximately 10 pounds; heavier than any of my babies…See video: Continuing on…Do you find yourself wanting the general same foods this time of year, or month of February every year? Like it’s programmed.I DO!—I eat Chinese a lot end-of-January and all of February. Plenty of fried rice and hot and sour soup does it just right! !I know what’s good for me when I get those wintry sniffles on these cold nights– I pull out the Chinese spices.The girl that I am, you know I’m going to be on the nauseating side;I’m going to decorate for Valentine’s Day! I’m going to be that annoying!Why not. Not a thing wrong about it.Look at this Crown of Thorns cactus, would you!– It’s got a reptile look at the moment. The cold weather got to it a bit. I’m nursing it to health again. What might have died has been re-birthed and putting forth shoots of new life.Kind of like losing a partial side of your finger in a meat slicer– It grows back!! And thank, GOD, it did!!… I mean, I have a couple of broken fingers that were never “fixed”, never set; and I tell ya, they look kind of cool for Halloween.“Mama’s got jag.”I might have a professional break them again, to make them straight for me for a final bow, but for now– I’m in camo like a lizard. Long [false] fingernails, mastery of art– not just for beauty.Here is my very first plus-size garment in leopard for my shop! It’s an 18W for any of you guys who are shopping for your “babalicious” for that dreaded V-Day, and I’m not talking about Veteran’s Day that’s already passed.It could be for that special mom, boys. What size does your mother take in a skirt?Leopard-cheta print is trending right now. I will always carry something leopard in my store because of my cat that went “bye-bye into fairyland where greener meadows are”–My sweet circus cat that became the mascot for this girly clothing store of mine.So, guys, if you let your moms/and or grandmas, sisters, wives, girlfriends know that you care about them more than a once-in-a-while in a year thing, then you’re a rock star— and the best son, boyfriend/husband, bro… Who are you?And for all you “taken” men, be a genuine gentleman to your girlfriend/wife/baby mama… We need more great men. That’s what women really want. It starts with that. Anything else, everything else follows, like candy-icing on a cake. It’s important to us, above all, to have a great man that we don’t have to share with other females. Someone who will never harm us; and so many other reasons.Yeah, be him.Be pleasantly “macho”, but still be him.Enjoy your football game in a few days. Who will win the Super Bowl?
