Pants Chilletti

January 28, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

exclusively Skirt in the KitchenI cooked in the kitchen with-- "my old man"-- my husband.  Do you really think he did all of this himself?-- No!  We thought of the same things throughout the entire process.  It was fast, quick; it was great.  It was sex in the kitchen.  The countertops cracked, busted, then crumbled and fell all over the vintage … [Read more...]

Sour Apple BBQ Chicken Pizza

January 28, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

exclusively Skirt in the KitchenMy oldest kid-- He's not really a kid, he's grown now!-- my kid and I made pizzas yesterday, six; five different kinds-- but this one is my favorite with his very own barbecue sauce.  The only thing I can take credit for with this pizza is how I wanted it made, telling him exactly of the arrangement I wished to have, then lending my … [Read more...]

- adapted from (Stephani's maternal great-grandmother) Delores Eggemeyer -This is truly the creamiest rice.  Even if using 2% milk, it will still be creamy-good, the consistency so right.  I had whole milk and half 'n half on hand, so that's what I used-- 1 cup whole, 2 cups half 'n half.  It's got to be made in a double-boiler over medium-low heat; then … [Read more...]

Snickerdoodle Cookies

January 25, 2014 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

These are puffy, soft and tender cookies.  They're good, but better the second day.  These are adapted from Sally's Baking Addiction. It is thought or believed that Snickerdoodle derives from the German language, its name formerly known as, "Schnedkennudeln" which means, "snail noodles", a type of pastry.  I prefer grinding my own cinnamon sticks for a more robust flavor … [Read more...]
