Skirt in the Kitchen Music Theme

October 2, 2013 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

The music theme word this time is ‘woman’ — the last one, ‘garden’.  Usually there are a couple of songs started with a theme word until it’s posted (mentioned) as a particular theme for a week or two running.  October 1 began with Peggy Lee’s ‘I’m a Woman’ for Jewelry Pins, then Cher’s most recent song, ‘Woman’s World’ for Sparkle Heads post on October 1.  Cool Long Woman by the Hollies was featured on Cajun Kasha previously posted.  This theme leads up to the ‘Witches in the Kitchen’ for Halloween– hopefully posted about the week of Halloween.  I’m working hard for that moment, making the life-size kitchen help.

SITK is not just about food, is not only about what would be a neat idea pertaining to cooking and baking, but it’s also about a woman’s world with a man’s input now and then.  Viewers are almost half-and-half of both genders.  Fairly said, it’s a man’s blog, too, the guys’ world that my father is behind for a man’s taste of foods.  I am prone to put in my husband’s creations of his likings, and that of my mother’s and sister’s, my son Caleb’s, and my nephew– Rob’s recipes that he comes up with as well as the recipes of extended family.  It’s got heat and spice featuring the jalapenos.  It’s the green stuff for Halloween on SITK.  So far it’s been a lot of fun creating the nasty vapor into delicious foods.  The ‘Witch’s Brew’ has yet to go inside a green velvet cake, into BBQ sauce, smashed into eggs…  It’s got a future in anything sweet and savory.  I’ve even thought of slopping it up into a green apple pie.

The next series of songs with the word ‘woman’ will appear consecutively on each post except for ‘Rose-Colored Glasses’– That’s when I take a “break” from the kitchen, I go into a realm of “smelling the roses” for a bit.  Rose-Colored Glasses happens to be my favorite segment here, so it’s needed.

Enjoy the foods and upcoming holidays beginning in the month of October on SITK.
