Good with honey and sausage–
[adapted from Christmas Cooking Southern Style]
This is for a 450° oven.
Line a baking sheet with parchment. Sift together dry ingredients of 1 1/4 cups flour, 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Stir in 3/4 cup pureed pumpkin and 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter. Onto a lightly floured surface, knead dough 8 to 10 times before rolling out into 1/2-inch thickness, then cutting into biscuits. Bake until lightly golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes.
