In a food processor, grind seeds to make as much juice as possible, 1/2 of a pomegranate, omitting membrane of the fruit. Strain through a fine sieve; 6 tablespoons of juice needed for 1 cocktail. In a shaker, add the juice, 1/4 cup vodka, 1 tablespoon orange liqueur, fresh squeeze of lemon or lime, and 1 or 2 teaspoons or more of simple syrup if desired (2 parts sugar dissolved into 1 part heated water).
