PRAIRIE LILY CAFE AND CRAZY HORSE SALOON

October 8, 2012 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

Who has sandhill plum jelly that is homemade that can be purchased of the season’s bountiful wild plums growing alongside rural sandy roads in South Central Kansas?  Preserve-filled jars can be found in a little town, in a small cafe, where it’s sold and made specially by Karen Schrag at Prairie Lily Cafe and Crazy Horse Saloon in Arlington, Kansas.

Karen Schrag (sisters) and owner/operator Rebecca Wetzel,

with daughter Maggie LaVallee.  Together, the three are a working team of accomplishment and pride.

Come step inside, pull up a chair, order a plate of homemade goodness with a kick of spices

that leave you satisfied with terrific flavor.  Order the Buffalo Style Chicken Legs with Beef Kabobs and Bacon Wrapped Jalapenos with French Fries or Salad, hot or mild plate– $9.95.

Choices of dipping sauces are as follows:  Diablo (very hot), Fire Lily (spicy), Ranch, Blue Cheese.

Potato Fries, Mashed Potatoes, and Sweet Tator Fries are made fresh for each and every order.  You get quality as well as quantity.

(Ham steak with bacon, cheese, and beef burger– a tasty, great combination.)  Take a bite of the Last Stand, it’s worth the stop.

Try the dessert– Peach with an oatmeal-crisp topping, “Peach Crisp”.

Stay a while and sign the Wall of Shame–

like Ted Nugent.

Play the jukebox,

shoot pool…

get a drink and sing karaoke at the bar.

Features of the establishment–

Located 120 W Main St, Arlington, KS  (620) 538-2066
Hours of operation:  Tues – Sun 11-6 pm (Sat 11 am – 2 am)
