Mozzarella Jalapeno Beef Patties (“Popper Burgers”)

September 30, 2011 By Susan Nuyt Leave a Comment

This is my son’s creation, similar to one of our plate of patties for sandwiches that we have previously featured on Skirt in the Kitchen.  Guess that would be because he’s been around our cooking for such a while now, in the kitchen with us, right with us here– loving every bite!  But he’s geared for cooking, gets it naturally.

Here’s what he did besides mixing grated mozzarella cheese, and mixing in sliced fresh jalapenos from our garden–
He mixed into the meat besides mozzarella and jalapenos– McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning,
garlic powder, salt, pepper
and diced white onion.
He fried them on high heat, added a little bit of olive oil in the skillet; kept the burgers soft, though, in and on the outside of the meat– frequently flipped the patties to keep them soft on the exterior.
He flipped the mushrooms while sauteing for over the patties– in olive oil, Montreal Steak Seasoning and pepper.
But he layered the grated mozzarella over the mushrooms– over the patties, and they were awesome.
